SSC CHSL 2026 recruitment: the originally announced application deadline has passed. PIB listed 7 October 2026, 11 PM IST, for online applications and 8 October, 11 PM, for fee payment. This page now explains what existing applicants should check next; it is not an invitation to submit a fresh application.

SSC CHSL 2026 recruitment: important dates
The official PIB announcement confirms the application and payment deadlines. The SSC notice also gives the correction window:
- Application submission: 7 October 2026, 11 PM.
- Online fee payment: 8 October 2026, 11 PM.
- Correction facility: confirm the current dates, permitted changes and charges in the official SSC notice and your candidate dashboard.
The extra fee-payment day does not extend the application deadline. Finish the form within the application window, then check your payment status if a fee applies.
Vacancies and eligibility
The SSC notice lists approximately 2,536 tentative vacancies for LDC, JSA and Data Entry Operator posts. Final numbers may change. The age range is 18–27 years as on 1 August 2026, with category relaxations under the notice.
A recognised 12th-pass qualification is required for LDC/JSA and most DEO posts. Certain DEO roles require Science with Mathematics. Applicants must meet the education cutoff of 7 October 2026. Read the exact post conditions before choosing preferences.
Application fee
The fee is ₹100. Women, SC/ST candidates, PwBD candidates and ex-servicemen eligible for reservation are exempt. Verify the exemption conditions in the notice before selecting your category.
Original application process — retained for reference
The following steps describe the original application route. A visible login page does not mean fresh applications are open.
- Open the official SSC portal and find the CHSL 2026 application.
- Complete or use your One Time Registration.
- Fill the form and follow the live photograph and signature instructions.
- Review every field, submit on time and pay the fee if applicable.
- Save the submitted application and check the payment status.
Already applied? Check these records now
Open your saved application and compare its reference number with the record in your SSC account. Keep the application PDF and any fee acknowledgement together. A bank debit and a submitted application are different records: if they disagree, follow the support instructions on the official portal.
If a correction facility is available, identify the error and the supporting document before editing. First check whether that field can be changed and whether a charge applies. After making an allowed correction, download the latest version and label it clearly so that you do not later rely on the superseded copy.
What if you missed the deadline?
Look for an explicit extension notice from SSC. Do not rely on a third-party “apply now” headline or assume the separate payment deadline reopened registration. Without an official extension, prepare for another suitable notification rather than paying anyone who promises a late application.
Prepare without guessing the examination date
Use the official syllabus to make a topic checklist, then identify your weakest areas with timed practice. Keep preparation and administrative checks separate: one list for study topics, another for examination notices and documents. This prevents an unverified date circulating on social media from becoming the basis of your plan.
Details to compare with your saved application
First, compare your name and date of birth with your certificates. Next, read your contact details aloud to catch typing errors. An incorrect email address can make it harder to track important messages.
Also, keep your documents organised in one folder. Open each file before uploading it so you know it is clear and complete. Follow the portal’s size and format instructions rather than copying settings from another exam application.
Finally, set aside time to review the preview. A hurried submission can leave simple errors unnoticed. Keep your saved application somewhere easy to find and record the next date you need to check. These practical tips support your application preparation.
