Educational Qualification
Applicants need a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Candidates must have passed graduation between 1 January 2023 and 1 September 2026, inclusive. Check the completion date recorded in your qualification documents. Holding a degree alone is insufficient if you do not meet the passing-date requirement.
Age Limit and Relaxations
The basic age requirement is 20–28 years as of 1 September 2026. The corresponding birth-date range is 2 September 1998 to 1 September 2006, inclusive.
| Category | Upper-age relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC/ST | 5 years |
| OBC, Non-Creamy Layer | 3 years |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities | 10 years |
Eligible widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried have category-specific age ceilings: 35 years for General/EWS, 38 for OBC and 40 for SC/ST.
The notice permits SC/ST/OBC relaxation to be combined with the PwBD relaxation under its stated conditions. Candidates claiming relaxation must produce the required certificates.
Experience and Apprenticeship Restrictions
Check your complete training and employment history before applying:
- Candidates who have already undertaken apprenticeship training with Canara Bank or another organisation are ineligible under the notice.
- Candidates currently undertaking apprenticeship training are also ineligible.
- Candidates whose earlier apprenticeship was terminated because of their own fault are excluded.
- Candidates with one year or more of training or job experience after completing their educational qualification are ineligible.
- Ex-servicemen and disabled ex-servicemen cannot be engaged under this notice.
Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Seats
| State | SC | ST | OBC | EWS | UR | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Telangana | 21 | 9 | 36 | 13 | 55 | 134 |
| Andhra Pradesh | 39 | 17 | 66 | 24 | 101 | 247 |
PwBD reservation is horizontal and included within the overall seats. Candidates can select one state only and indicate district preferences within it. Allotment depends on availability and the bank’s requirements, so a preferred district is not guaranteed.
Local-Language Requirement
The notification lists Telugu/Urdu for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Candidates with Class 10 or Class 12 records showing that they studied the specified opted local language are exempt from the local-language test.
Other candidates must qualify in the applicable test during document verification. Failure to qualify prevents engagement. Keep your school records ready if you intend to claim exemption.
Monthly Stipend and Training Duration
The apprenticeship lasts 12 months. The stated monthly stipend is ₹16,650: ₹10,500 from Canara Bank and ₹6,150 as the government share through Direct Benefit Transfer under the applicable guidelines.
Payment is subject to the notice’s conditions, including loss-of-pay adjustments where applicable. Apprentices do not receive other allowances or employee benefits. Consider travel and accommodation costs before deciding whether the opportunity suits your circumstances.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| SC/ST/PwBD | Nil |
| All other candidates | ₹500 |
The fee includes GST and intimation charges and is non-refundable. Pay through the official application process and retain your receipt.
Selection Process
The state-wise merit list uses Class 12 or diploma examination marks, rather than graduation marks. The minimum is 55% for SC/ST/PwBD and 60% for other candidates.
Marks below the threshold cannot be rounded up: 59.99% does not meet a 60% requirement. Older candidates rank higher when percentages are identical.
Final selection depends on verification of eligibility and application details, document verification, the local-language test where applicable, and medical fitness. Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee a seat.
Documents to Prepare
- Graduation records showing qualification and passing date.
- Class 12 or diploma marksheets.
- School records supporting local-language exemption, where applicable.
- Category, disability or age-relaxation certificates, if claimed.

- Active personal email address and mobile number.
- Scanned photograph, signature, thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
